GREECE IS OUR STAGE!!

FIRST REHEARSAL!!!

WITH THE MAJOR OF PATRAS (GREECE) IN THE TOWN HALL!!💥🎉🎇

FIRST DAY MOBILTY IN PATRAS

We start this new adventure full of illusion and with the desire to unite our voices once again to be able to take the wealth of European folklore wherever we go.
On this occasion we visited Patras, where they received us in 35th Primary School with a warm welcome and making us participate in the traditional dances of the Peloponnese, that the students of the school have prepared for the Erasmus partners.
The Erasmus spirit was breathed in every corner of the school, decorated for this occasion with traditional scenes, typical costumes, etc. The school choir has delighted us with songs from Greek folklore and they have sung for us The Epitaph of Seikilos, which has its origins in this wonderful place.
Later, our Choir has started to do what it knows best, SING. The rehearsals have begun and the voices of this puzzle have begun to fit together to prepare new European folklore songs, that will be part of the repertoire of our concerts.
After a guided tour of the city, where we have been able to visit the most emblematic places such as the Roman Theater, the castle, the cathedral, etc... our wonderful guide has led us to the Town Hall, where the choir has performed songs for the mayor of the city, which has usreceived very kindly and has assured that he will attend the concert that we will give on Thursday at the University. The mayor has been impressed with our choir and has told us that we put not only our voice when we sing, but also our soul.
To eat, how could it be otherwise, we have eaten a typical Greek dish: Pita gyros. A tasty recipe that our children have loved... and the not-so-children!
Our day has ended Palaia Sfageia, today a Carnival Museum, a typical Patras festival, in which the entire population participates and fills the streets with joy and color at the arrival of Carnival.

SECOND DAY MOBILTY IN PATRAS
The day has dawned cloudy and the rain has not kept us waiting, but with the strength and enthusiasm that we have, nothing stops us. Early in the morning we set off, heading towards AIGIO, a town near Patras, where another school wanted to join our precious madness. This project is like a snowball, and each time involves more schools, more children, more teachers, more families and..... more towns.🌍🏛
They have welcomed us all with a big round of applause and a rose for each one of us🌹. They have opened the doors of their school to our choir, and have performed traditional dances for us. Its director has addressed us some beautiful words to welcome us, and Andreas, the coordinator of this new partner school, has invited us to dance with them, immersing us all in Greek culture and folklore, living it as one more Greek.
For a week this land has adopted us, and its people are stealing our hearts, because everywhere we go, we only receive affection and sympathy towards us.💖
After singing and dancing typical songs, we have started to rehearse. More children have joined our choir and ..... the magic has appeared. the emotion has been on the surface, children so different, from different countries, different cultures and EVERYONE has become a single voice, that of A SMALL CHOIR FOR A GREAT CONTINENT.🎶🎵🎼🎉🌍🇪🇺
After the rehearsal, Angelos (music teacher from Greece) has taught everyone to play songs with the flutes that they have given to all... there are no musical facets that can resist us!!!!🪈
To eat, they have offered us chicken and pork skewers, and a typical dish: musaka. Another day we have enjoyed the local gastronomy, one more and very important part of folklore.🍽
Our children have played and danced together with the children of the School and in a very short time they spoke to each other as if they had known each other for a long time.
To end this fantastic day, we have offered our first concert at the Aigio Cinema, where families and townspeople have been able to enjoy the voices of our children. the concert began with a small performance that made us reflect on climate change. .No words were needed, only the piano🎹 music played by Angelos and the expressiveness of the children's bodies, together with a play of lights, have been enough to make us see the importance of taking care of our planet.🌍
The show offered by our choir, once again, has surprised the attendees, who have been able to enjoy the magic that European folklore music gives off
Thanks to Andreas and the director of the Aigio school for welcoming us as part of their school, for receiving us with such kindness. YOU ARE ALREADY PART OF THIS TEAM.💝
I don't know if we will have enough days in our lives to be thankful for being able to make this project a reality. Thanks to the Erasmus program we are living unforgettable moments, meeting incredible people and forming a great family whose link is the love of music, love of European culture and improving coexistence among all.

THIRD DAY MOBILTY IN PATRAS

🇬🇷🇬🇷🏛️🏛️
🇬🇷🇬🇷🇪🇺🇪🇺🎶🎶
Our Erasmus choir has dawned early. Very early we headed for Delphos, an archaeological site declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987[1] and a modern city in Greece. In ancient times it was the place of the oracle of Delphi, inside a temple dedicated to the god Apollo. Delphi was revered throughout the Greek world as the site of the Omphalos, or center of the universe.
🏛️🏛️🏛️
Our guide has explained to us a lot of stories that revolved around this magnificent place, and it is that not only has the place been very interesting and enriching, but also the wonderful landscapes that we have been able to see until we reached it, full of mountains, hills, olive trees, beaches and small coastal towns.
We have been able to tour the archaeological remains of the city of Delphos and its Museum, where treasures such as statues, friezes, objects of the time are preserved. This city lived its splendor during the 6th century BC.
After a break to eat, we have headed to Náfpaktos, a coastal town in Greece, where Miguel de Cervantes lost his arm in the battle of Lepanto. These statues of such an illustrious Spanish writer were donated with the collaboration of various Spanish institutions, including the City Council of Argamasilla de Alba, a town from La Mancha.
All our children have worked on the history of Cervantes, and is present in the story that they themselves have written in which the protagonists are the Cycladic figurines.
Back home, we have boarded the ferry again, the end of a day full of culture, music and games…

FOURTH DAY MOBILTY IN PATRAS
The day started with brilliant sunshine and soon our children were on the way.
The first stop was at the Cathedral of San Andrés
It is an Orthodox basilica that construction began in 1908 and was inaugurated in 1974, and it is built in the Byzantine style.
Then, we continue to the Music School, where we were able to enjoy a small concert of ancient Greek stringed instruments.
Our next destination was the Archaeological Museum of Patras. There are preserved a multitude of mosaics from ancient times that were the pavement of houses and public buildings, objects and belongings of family life, public life and the necropolis.
The Museum guide very kindly explained to us all the ancient history of Patras and we were able to learn a little more about this beautiful city.
There we rehearsed for the evening concert. To gain strength, the families of the school prepared us typical Greek food that we could enjoy eating at school. Delicious dishes and made from the love of our host families.
And the most exciting moment of the mobility arrived: Our concert in the auditorium of the University of Patras.
The children sang and danced to songs from our repertoire. Poland, Spain, Croatia, Italy and Greece merged to offer the best version of European culture and folklore. The concert was a success. Many people came to see us and it is that... we are for a reason....
THE BEST TEAM IN THE WORLD.....NOOOOOOOO
IN THE UNIVERSE!!!!

OUR CONCERT IN PATRAS... ENJOY IT!

FIFTH DAY MOBILTY IN PATRAS

And what about our fifth day!!????
It was so exciting that it took us days to digest so many feelings, so much affection that our Greek companions, families and children transmitted to us. 💖
The day started with a visit to Mega Spileo, an orthodox monastery near Kalavryta. It is located in a large cave in a Sheen cliff. It is the oldest in Greece.
We were able to visit it and sing inside it. Its rooms are grandiose and impressive.
🕍
Then we went to Kalavryta, a mountain town with a special charm, where the mayor and high school students could hear our voices, delighting everyone who was in the town square🎼🎵🎶🎼🎵🎶
Next, our children were able to walk through the village, typical of the mountains, with surprising landscapes full of vegetation.
We headed to Akrata on a very special train called Odontotos. We were able to enjoy this ride through the mountains and forests. Some landscapes that we will never forget for their great beauty.
We ate on the beach and this peculiar restaurant delighted our children.
In the afternoon we visited a winery where our children were able to learn how wine is made in the area. 🥂
We finished the day putting the climax to the visit to Greece. A GREAT DINNER WITH FAMILIES AND CHILDREN FROM GREECE. There are no words to describe the warmth we felt, the love they gave us and the unforgettable moments we lived that night. 💖🎶🎵🎼
.
We are infinitely grateful to our Greek partners for the good organization of this mobility. The involvement of teachers, families and children in Greece. The love they have given us and how good they have made us feel during these days. Without a doubt, we carry a piece of Greece in our hearts and memories in our souls forever.
